New Year's Day is a CWD-observed holiday. Friday routes slide to Saturday (week shifts one day).

From the city Trash Collection FAQ (checked Oct 15, 2026): CWD observes New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. If your collection day falls on a holiday, the whole week moves one day and ends on Saturday. The 2026 bulk calendar PDF says the same — observed holidays delay service one day.
