Melissa trash & recycling schedule

When

Carts out by 7 a.m. on service day (pickup 7 a.m.–7 p.m.). Bulk and brush at the front curb by 7 a.m. on your designated monthly bulk Friday.

Where

Carts with wheels toward the house; 3 ft between trash and recycle carts; 3 ft from mailboxes, fences, gas meters, and drainage ditches; 16 ft overhead clearance; don’t block with vehicles (ASL). Bulk and bundled brush at the front curb.

Limits

Bulk ≤4 cubic yards per monthly pickup (about one washing machine = 1 cu yd); unlimited properly bundled brush; overloaded carts aren’t serviced; special pickup quote from CWD for overages; extra poly-carts through Utility Billing (delivered Fridays).

Brush

All brush tied and bundled ≤4 ft × 2 ft and ≤40 lb; no loose brush. Fence panels ≤4×6 ft; carpet in 4-ft lengths; bagged leaves count as bulk.

Not allowed

Bulk won’t take: single items over 150 lb, commercial remodeling/construction debris, HHW (paint, aerosols, motor oil, etc.), tires, batteries, propane tanks, household trash, loose brush, or loose debris (put it in a disposable container ≤2×2×4 ft ≤50 lb). Refrigerators and freezers need a refrigerant-removal tag. Drain gasoline from engines. Door-side HHW/electronics for approved items (call CWD).

Bags

Bag all trash inside the gray cart; recyclables loose (not bagged) in the blue cart; lids closed.

City and CWD Melissa pages don’t list set-out citation dollar amounts. Missed collection: contact CWD within 24 hours (972-392-9300 option 2). Cart repair/replacement: CWD. Extra carts: Utility Billing 972-838-2035. Senior discount (65+) via city application with ID.
