Schedule

Bulk pickup is automatic in Little Elm — no city request needed.

Set-out checklist

City rules before collection day. Confirm with the city if anything looks off.

When

Carts out by 7 a.m. on service day (pickup 7 a.m.–7 p.m.). Bulk and brush out by 7 a.m. on your designated bulk-week trash day; collected by 7 p.m. Bring carts back within 24 hours.

Where

Carts at the curb (or alley edge if that’s your route), wheels toward the house, lid closed. Keep 3 ft between trash and recycle carts and 3 ft from mailboxes, cars, fences, gas meters, and drainage ditches; 16 ft overhead clearance. Bulk and brush go in the grassy strip between sidewalk and curb in front of the house — even when trash is alley-served.

Limits

Bulk up to 6 cubic yards per pickup; tied/bundled brush unlimited. Overloaded carts and trash left outside the cart aren’t serviced. Replacement cart is $75; an extra cart is $92.70 per bin through Utility Billing.

Brush

Tree limbs in 4 ft × 2 ft bundles under 50 lb, tied. Grass and leaves bagged. Fence panels no bigger than 4 ft × 6 ft. Carpet bundled in 4-ft lengths.

Not allowed

Not collected as bulk: HHW (paint, motor oil, pool chemicals, fuel, poisons, fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, fluorescent lamps/ballasts, smoke detectors, medical waste, certain cleaners), commercial or residential construction/remodeling debris, tires, batteries, auto parts, and loose debris (put it in a box or container ≤2×2×4 ft and ≤50 lb). Refrigerators and freezers need a professional refrigerant-removal label.

Bags

Bag all household trash inside the gray cart. Recyclables go in the blue cart (approved items only). Lids closed.

Fees and fines

Town and CWD pages don’t list set-out citation dollar amounts. Red tags explain why something wasn’t picked up (too close to objects, lid open, out of reach, HHW, bulk on the wrong day). Cart replacement $75; additional carts $92.70 each via Utility Billing.
